Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation | 66 Cool Bone

Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation | 66 Cool Bone

Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay In Place Makeup comes in 30 shades and cost £27.50 for 30ml. It is described as a long lasting yet lightweight foundation that wears for 12 hours. It contains SPF10 and leaves a supposed natural finish on the skin.

I picked up the shade 66 Cool Bone which is one of the lightest shades I believe. It's a great skin match, and the lady in Boots on Bond Street really helped me choose a shade that would last through summer and winter, and one that really suited my skin tone.

The liquid is very thick, much like Revlon Color Stay, but it blends into my skin like a dream. I don't find it heavy, cakey or anything like that. I'm not sure that I would call it lightweight because I consider Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua lightweight (review here) but it's not heavy either. It's a medium to full coverage, and builds really well.

I found the lasting power to be amazing. I had it on for about 12 hours, and the only change I saw in my skin was the fact that it had worn off a little on my blemishes around my chin. That didn't happen till about hour 8 though, so I'm very impressed. Normally, foundations last about 2 hours at most on my blemishes so 8 is amazing.

The finish is a natural one, maybe slightly leaning towards satin. It's not totally matte, but it's not dewy either. It lasts really well with and without powder, so you can choose to play up the dew or mattify it if you wish.

The packaging is amazing. It's a frosted glass bottle, with beautiful gold branding and blue writing on it. It feels like it's worth £27.50, and the bottle looks gorgeous on my vanity. The only thing I don't like is the fact that it doesn't have a pump. the liquid is quite thick so it doesn't get everywhere quickly but a little to much does come out when I try to pour it onto the back of my hand.

    1. I think it's worth it! It is expensive, but the formula is great and because it's not a totally matte finish it can be used in all seasons
