The 'Oops' Haul

Haul
Haul: Hair Care, Makeup, Perfume & Accessories

All I should really say is oops! I got a tad carried away when my student loan came in, and what I thought was going to be a treat or two for myself turned into this. I'm sorry (but not really).

Haul : Hair care
Haircare: Glizz Liquid Silk, Palmer's Olive Oil Replenishing Conditioner, This One Replenishing Treatment, Tresemme Platinum Strength Treatment shot, Doo Gro Hair Vitalizer, Le Kair Natural Carrot Oil Cholesterol Creme

Palmer's Olive Oil Formula Replenishing Conditioner (link)

Price: £2.95
Where: Love Afro Cosmetics
Why:  I'm on a mission to try and help my hair. It's been dyed and bleached to within a inch of a its life and it's crying out for moisture and life. I've tried just about everything in the drugstore, so before moving onto high end expensive stuff that might or might not work I thought I would give this a go.

Doo Gro Triple Strength Medicated Hair Vitalizer (link)

Price: £3.95
Where: Love Afro Cosmetics
Why: My hair is at the length where it just won't grow any more and I want something that is going to stimulate growth. I want it longer, and this seemed like something my hair would respond to. It's for severely damaged hair (that's mine) and it's meant to help moisturize and help hair grow. We will see.

Le Kair Natural Carrot Oil Cholesterol Creme (link)

Price:£1.95
Where: Love Afro Cosmetics
Why: I got this for the same reasons and the Palmer's conditioner. The idea is something quite foreign to me, and I'm not 100% how to use it but I hope it helps add some moisture and life back into me hair.

Schwarzkopf Gliss Liquid Silk Leave In Hair Conditioner Spray (link)

Price: £1.85 (Usually £3.79)
Where: Superdrug
Why: This is a constant repurchase for me. It's an amazing leave in conditioner that doesn't weigh my hair down or leave it with any kind of build up or greasiness. It helps and it's cheap, so I've always got a bottle to hand.

This One 'Get Glam Locks Again' Replenishing Treatment (link)

Price:£3 (Will Be £5.99)
Where: Superdrug
Why: I think this a new brand, and it was on offer in Superdrug for just £3 an item. I thought I would grab something while it had an introductory offer, and I grabbed this. It's a conditioning mask for normal and colour treated hair, so I thought it would be good for my dyed hair.

YSL Rouge Pur Couture Lipstick in 25 Taupe Raphael (link)

  Price: £22.50 (Usually £25)
Where: Debenhams

Why:  I've wanted a YSL lippy for sooo long. They are like the ultimate luxury item in my opinion. I really wanted the Rouge Volupture one, but they were out of the colour I wanted and this was the closes one I could find. It's not quite a pretty but it's still pretty darn luxurious.

Rimmel Apocolips in Celestial (link)

Price: £5.99
Where: Superdrug
Why:  I'm not sure why I got this because I have the nude one and I'm not a fan. I think I thought that maybe a different colour would be better. It's a little better than the nude one but I still don't understand the hype behind these things. Sorry Rimmel.
(read my Nude Eclipse review here)

L'Oreal Caresse Glam Shine Stain Splash in 400 Eve (link)

Price: £7.99 (BOGO 1/2 price)
Where: Superdrug
Why:  I've wanted to try the YSL glossy stains, but I cannot justify the price on something I know I might not like so I thought I would give these a go because they are essentially the same thing. I like it but it's not love, so I'm glad I got this and not the YSL one.

Haul : Makeup Part 2
Seventeen Doll'd Up Mascara, MUA Pearl Eyeshadow in Shade 30, L'Oreal Color Infallible Eyeshadow ion Sahara Treasure

Seventeen Doll'd Up Mascara in Blackest Black (link)

Price: £2 (Usually £6.29)

Where: Boots
Why:  I got a coupon that meant I could this for just £2 so I grabbed it while I could. It's an okay mascara, and the brush is very similar to that of the Max Factor Clump Defy mascara, so I saved some money getting that one.

MUA Eyeshadow on Pearl Shade 30 (link)

Price:£1
Where: Superdrug
Why: I have this colour in one of my palette, and hit pan on it. I thought I would get in single pan form instead of buying the entire palette again. I actually like this one more because the texture is more creamy and you get less fall out when using it. It's also a dupe for Amber Lights by MAC, or some I'm told anyways.

L'Oreal Infalliable Eyeshadow in Sahara Treasure (link)

Price: £6.99 (BOGO 1/2 Price)
Where: Superdrug
Why:  I love these shadows because you can use them wet or dry. They look gorgeous on the eye if you use them wet, and give the most gorg foiled effect. This on is no different, and it's nice to have a gold this isn't garish and is a little more subtle.

Why:  For some reason I was drawn to these. I'm not normally one for stud earrings, and I usually don't like big garish ones but I thought this would look cute so I grabbed them up. They were only 49p so if I hate them on, I haven't wasted that much on them.

Dainty Doll Mascara and Eyeliner Duo in 001 Good Gosh (link)

Price: £1.99
Where: Fragrance Direct
Why: I love trying out new mascaras, and I want to get into liquid eyeliner so I thought this was win win. It was even a better because of the price.   It's not the best though, so it won't get to much use.
 Review To Come Soon

Dainty Doll Kohl Eyeliner in 002 I'm So Pretty (link)

Price: 99p
Where: Fragrance Direct
Why: This was the only thing from the Dainty Doll stuff that I liked. It's a brown pencil that, while not really that doft or creamy, goes on without dragging or anything like that. It's not that pigmented but it makes a nice change from my usual black.

Superdrug Coconut & Sweet Almond Intensive Conditioner

Isn't it always great when you find a brilliant product for a really cheap price? It makes the fact it's good just all that much better. This is probably one of the best bargains I've ever found.
Superdrug Coconut & Sweet Almond Intensive Conditioner, 375ml, £1.49
The Superdrug Coconut & Sweet Almond Intensive Conditioner is a very thick conditioner for dry/damaged hair. It says it adds moisture and shine to the hair and it smells pretty awesome too.
The product is very thick, and has a slight shimmer to it. It looks nice, but it doesn't make your hair glitter or anything like that so fear not. I have extremely dry hair, and I use this all through my hair from root to tip. For people who have normal hair, or oily hair it might be best to keep this to root application.

It works well as a quick conditioner left in for just a minute or two, but it also works brilliantly as a mask if you leave it on for 15 - 20 minutes. It leaves my hair feeling silky soft, keep frizz at bay and leaves my hair smelling lovely

The best part about this is the fact that you can pick it for anywhere between 99p to £1.49. The price seems to vary every time I pick it up, but it's never more than £1.50, and it's usually on some kind of offer so you can get two for the price of 1.

Because the Superdrug brand is cruelty free, this obviously is. It's carry's the BUAV approved logo, and also carries the Superdrug 100% Happiness Return Guarantee. This is a great scheme in my opinion because even if you've tried something from their own label brand, you can take it back if it doesn't meet your expectations.

I would highly recommend picking this up if you haven't tried it. It's super cheap and it actually works! It also has a regular conditioner and shampoo in the range that are really nice as well. The Shampoo lathers up really well, and the conditioner is a nice, lighter version of this if you need it.

You can pick the Superdrug Coconut & Sweet Almond Intensive Conditioner up in Superdrug store, or online here for just £1.49.

B. Radiant BB Under Eye Concealer

The B. brand has done nothing but impress me with only 1 little bump in the road. It's not to expensive but it feels a little more luxurious than your average drugstore brand.

I picked the B. B.Radiant BB Under Eye Concealer up with high hopes. I really wanted a new under eye concealer, after my Wake Me Up concealer started running low. I was really intrigued by the name and concept of this. The idea of a BB concealer is something that I don't really understand but all I could think of was that it was meant to be a lightweight concealer with just enough coverage to hide imperfections.
B. Radiant BB Under Eye Concealer in 124 Light, £7.99 link
That's really what it is. It's a very lightweight formula, but it doesn't really have that much coverage. It's great for me because my dark circles are minimal at the moment. If you have really bad dark circles or areas that you want to cover up, then I would try something else.

I wish there was a slightly lighter shade, but this matches my skin perfectly. It blends into my foundation like a dream and it doesn't crease. I would only benefit from a lighter shade because I wouldn't mind a little more brightening colour under my eyes.
B. Radiant BB Under Eye Concealer in 124 Light
The packaging is very similar to all the other under eye concealers out there. It has a twist up bottom, that pushes the product through a brush tip applicator. It's a little unsanitary, but if you use for yourself only, and avoid blemishes you might be okay. You could also just brush it onto the back of your hand, and use it with your fingers.

This is free from pesky shimmer and glitter than some people put in under eye concealers, so I love it just that little bit more. if you have any areas like redness this can cover it to because it's not got that shimmer in it. It doesn't cover spots all that well but scars and things like that are a little more blurred if you use this.

One final things to add is that this concealer, and the entire brand is cruelty free and it carries the international cruelty free logo on all it's products.  It's suitable for vegetarians and vegans too.

You can pick up the B. BB Under Eye Concealer from selected Superdrug store, and online here for just £7.99

Lush Brightside Bubble Bar

I love a good Lush bath.  Bath bombs from Lush are great, but nothing quite says relaxation like a good bubble bath. I tend to always reach for bubble bars, over bath bombs and bath melts because they combine  everything all into one. They give the bath a gorgeous colour, give you tons of bubble and smell like heaven. They also make the water feel pretty silky too.

I picked up Brightside because of the scent alone. I adore anything with a citrus scent, so this is like heaven to me. It smells like pure orange, as you can probably guess from the look of it. The scent lasts longer than any other bubble bars I've tried which is brilliant because my entire bathroom now smells like this bar of goodness.

My water turned a very bright orange shade, as expected and it creates just as many bubbles and bubble baths. The more you add, the brighter the colour and the more bubbles you get, but you really don't need that much to get a decent amount of either.

This lasts about 4 baths for me, but if you can stand to sacrifice a few bubbles you can make it last longer. I just break of a section, and crumble it under the running tap so that it dissolves.

Overall, I love this. If you love citrus scents I would recommend getting this before is disappears because it is an Easter limited edition product. I think I'll grab two or three before it's gone.

You can get this Brightside Bubble Bar in Lush store, or online here for £4.25.

Nars Laguna Bronzer Review & Giveaway

I was never really one for bronzers. I am ghostly pale, and the bronzers I tried tended to make me look like I'd been tangoed rather than warming up my skin tone a little, or contouring my face but after some research I found some bronzers that worked for me, and this is one of them,

Nars Laguna bronzer is a blogger cult favourite, and I can see why. It might be a little expensive, but it is worth it for many reasons. The first being that it feels nice and luxurious

. I know the packaging can get a little dirty, but the feel of the Nars packaging makes me feel like I have something nice to use. I like the fact that you get a ton of product, and you get a nice big mirror to use on the go.

The second thing I adore about this is the fact that it's not matte. I have been searching for a matte bronzer for so long, but after trying this I stopped looking. Matte bronzers that I've tried are nice, but they can make my skin look a bit dull. I don't use powder all the often, and with my dry skin I'm always using foundation that give me a dewy, glowy finish. Matte bronzers tended to take away from the glow that I wanted to achieve, but because this has really fine milled shimmer in it, it doesn't dull out the skin. It gives a nice glow but you don't look like a glitter ball.

The third reason that I adore this product is the colour. It's a nice brown bronzer, that doesn't make me go orange. I've gone over the top with this, and I still don't look like a towie extra. I use it for both bronzing and contouring because of that, and I haven't gone a day without it since buying it. It's nice to really shape the face for dramatics looks, and it's great to add some warmth to the face on a day to day basis.

I've heard so many people of different skin tones raves about this, so I'm certain it can work for darker skin tones too.

Overall this is just a fabulous product, and one that is totally worth the hype. It's not dull, orange or muddy. It works well on many skin tones, and it feels slightly more luxurious than other bronzers I've tired.

You can pick this up for £26 here, or in place with a Nars counter.  I also wanted to give one of my readers a chance to win one of these lovely products. It's just a small giveaway to say thanks for reading, and I wish you all good luck.

I'm also going to throw in a little gift bag of surprise goodies for the winner as well! Good Luck

Empties #2 | Hair Care, Body Care, Skin Care & Make Up

empties
Empties | Soap and Glory No Blogs Allowed, Tea Tree Foam Face Wash, Simple Refreshing Face Wash, Clarisonic Nourishing Care Cleanser, Nivea Daily Essentials Day Cream, Lacura Concealer Pen, Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation, Stila Smudge Stick in Moray, Benefit They're Real,  Sleek Twist Up Eye Pencil in Noir,  St Ives Elements Microderm Abrasion Scrub, Lush Rub Rub Rub Shower Scrub, Oh Lola Shower Gel, T Tree Foot Wash, Coconut & Sweet Almond Intensive Conditioner, Coconut & Sweet Almond Shampoo, Tresemme Split Remedy Conditioner, Lush Retread Conditioner, Live Colour XXL Luminance Hair Dye in L76 Ultra Violet, Nice & Easy Colour Protect Gloss Conditioner.
This post is proof that I need to do these more often. I collected far to many empties over the last few months, and this is the result of this. You might want to grab a drink and maybe a snack, because this going to be a longgggg post! Thanks, in advance, if you make it to the end.
Hair Empties
Hair Empties | Coconut & Sweet Almond Intensive Conditioner, Coconut & Sweet Almond Shampoo, Tresemme Split Remedy Conditioner, Lush Retread Conditioner,  Live Colour XXL Luminance Hair Dye in L76 Ultra Violet, Nice & Easy Colour Protect Gloss Conditioner.
Superdrug Coconut & Sweet Almond Intensive Conditioner
This is one of the best conditioners I've ever used, and I will repurcahse it until I can't any longer. It's super thick, so can work as a mask to. It smells great, and it really works. It makes my hair soft, and is really cheap.

Superdrug Coconut & Sweet Almond Shampoo
This is a great shampoo, and on about £1. It's not the best I've ever used, but it smells amazing and lathers up really well. It doesn't dry out my hair which I love, and it doesn't make my colored hair fade out quicker than normal like some other shampoos can.

Schwarzkopf Colour Live XXL Luminance in L76 Ultra Violet
This is the hair dye I'm using at the moment. It's okay. It makes my hair purple, which is what I'm looking for but it's not the best I've ever tried. It doesn't lighten my hair quite like it says it will, but it works well enough. I might try something else next time.

Tresemme Split Remedy Conditioner
I adore this range, it's one of the best drugstore ranges that I've used. It really makes my hair feel soft, and healthier. The conditioner, mask and serum are amazing, and I'll be repurchasing this soon.

Lush Retread Conditioner
This was okay. It wasn't the best, and I wouldn't buy it again because 1) I didn't like the smell and 2) it's not worth the price in my opinion. It worked well enough for days when my hair wasn't as dry as normal, but not good enough for my dry hair to really get any benefits from.

Nice & Easy Colour Seal Conditioner for Red Hair
I always have a few of these lying around because the conditioner they give me in hair dye never feel like enough for my hair. They say they are meant to last a few used but I can't even get one full use out of the box dye ones, so I use this to  top it up. It works just as well and they are only 99p each.

Body Care Empties
Body Care Empties | St Ives Elements Microderm Abrasion Scrub, Lush Rub Rub Rub Shower Scrub, Oh Lola Shower Gel & T Tree Foot Wash
St Ives Elements Microderm Abrasion Face Scrub
I only got this because it was on sale, and I don't think I wold get it again. I liked the texture to some extent but it just wasn't scrubby enough for me. It was a nice change from the normal apricot St Ives scrub, but I think I'll try something else next time.

Lush Rub Rub Rub Shower Scrub
This is great, it really gives you a good scrub but I hate the smell. It's the only reason I wouldn't buy it again because I used it for everything. I used it before shaving, tanning and even in my hair.

Oh Lola Shower Gel
There isn't much to say on this. It worked like any other shower gel would. The smell was nice when I was using this, but it didn't last any longer than any other shower gel.

T Tree Foot Wash
This was just a peppermint smelling wash. I used it on my feet, but it did no more than shower gel does when washing my feet.
Makeup Empties
Makeup Empties | Lacura Concealer Pen, Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation, Stila Smudge Stick in Moray, Benefit They're Real & Sleek Twist Up Eye Pencil in Noir.
Lacura Beauty Concealer Pen
I love this. It worked really well as an under eye concealer, and it was light enough for my skin tone. They have a pink tone or yellow tone to suit you, and it doesn't crease. It ran out quicker than some, but it's a lot cheaper than some though so it works out well either way.

Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation in True Ivory
I love this, just like everyone else. It works well for my dry skin, lasts ages and blends really well. I will have to get a lighter shade next time, but I would pick it up again.

Benefit They're Real Mascara
I don't think I need to say much on this because everyone has something to say on it. I love it, but it's a little to expensive for me. I think I'll stick with my drugstore mascaras for now, but I would get this on sale if it were ever on offer. It curls, volumises and lengthens and doesn't move all day. It's actually a total bitch to get off.

Sleek Twist Up Eye Pencil in Noir
The fact that I've used this makes me want to cry a little. This is my all time favourite black liner, and it's discontinued. I like the new liners sleek came out with but this is better. You don't need a sharpner (I always loose mine) and it's really black. It lasts a decent amount of time on my water line and doesn't end up any where that I don't want it to.

Stila Smudge Stick in Moray
I got this is a beauty box, and love it. I think, when I have some money, I will pick up the black or brown in this. I love the formula, the lasting power and the fact it's a twist up pencil. It lasts ages on the lid, lower lash line and waterlines. It's nicely pigmented, and just the right amount of creamyness.

Skincare Empties
Skincare Empties | Soap and Glory No Blogs Allowed, Tea Tree Foam Face Wash, Simple Refreshing Face Wash, Clarisonic Nourishing Care Cleanser & Nivea Daily Essentials Day Cream
Soap and Glory No Clogs Allowed Face Mask
I love this mask, and have already got a back up. I love this more than I can say. It's the only mask that works for every aspect of my skin. It helps unclog my pores, draws out impurities and leaves my skin feeling lovely. It's brilliant, and I can say not more than that. Go try it.

Tea Tree Foam Facial Wash
I wasn't impressed with this, so just used it for the sake a using it. I didn't feel like it left my skin clean enough for my liking, and it stung like a bitch if it got on any sensitive areas or blemishes. I wouldn't use this again, but the other bits from this range are good. I love the moisturizer.

Simple Refreshing Face Wash
This is the best bog standard face wash. It has not frills or anything like that but it leaves the skin feeling nice and clean, and it's great for all skin types. If I ever need to go back to basics to sort my skin out, this is what I reach for.

Clarisonic Nourishing Care Cleanser
I don't think there is anything special about this. I got in a beauty box and I'm glad I didn't pay for it. Maybe you need to use it with a clarisonic, but without one this just really doesn't do anything special.

Nivea Daily Essentials Day Cream
If you have dry skin, give this a go. It's a super thick, really moisturizing cream. It won't be good for people with oily/combo skin because it is so thick, but for my dry skin buddies this is great for dry patches that makeup can cling to, and it works as a great night cream too if you find it to intense for the day.

Thanks for reading, I hope you enjoyed.

Rimmel Wake Me Up | Foundation, Concealer and Shimmer Touches

Rimmel are on the ball at the moment! I mean everything they are coming out with seems to be a hit. The Wake Me Up range is something that is kind of hit and miss. The range offers some shimmer creams, foundation and a concealer.
Wake Me Up Rimmel
Rimmel Wake Me Up Range | Wake Me Up Foundation, Wake Me Up Shimmer Touch in Radiant Rose & Shimmering Sand and Wake Me Up Concealer
People went a little crazy over the Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation, and with good reason. It's an amazing foundation, that work for most skin types and gives a really nice finish to the skin. I've gone through a couple of bottle, and am currently working my way through a little sample I got. I've heard it's a dupe for the Nars Sheer Glow but I'm not entirely sure about that. I would say go and try it if you haven't. It's the stand out for me in this little range Rimmel offer. It comes in 6 shades, and is only £8.99!
Wake Me Up Concealer
Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer in Ivory, link, £5.49
I, personally, also went a little mad over the Wake Me Up concealer. It was one of the first under eye concealers that I found that really worked for me. It brightens under my eyes and it erases those dark circles. I'm a student, I need all the help I can get. You can read my full review here! It comes in 4 shades, and it's only £5.49.

Wake Me Up Highlight
Wake Me Up Instant Radiance Shimmer Touches in Radiant Rose and Shimmering Sands link £4.99
There are some things that let down the range, and those are the Instant Radiance Shimmer Touch. They come in two shades, one golden toned and one pink toned. The problem that I have with these are that I'm not sure what they actually are. When I brought them, I thought they might be a highlighter but they are just too pigmented to be a highlight. The pink, Radiant Rose, seems like it could be a cream blush but it's got to much glitter in it. It makes you look like you belong in Twilight, and that's not a look I can pull off. The golden one, Shimmering Sands, isn't dark enough to be a bronzer, and it's too glittery to be a blush and too dark for a highlight. I just don't know what to do with these, so they fall in my regret buying list.

You can pick this range up in most drugstores and online here

B.Radiant Illuminating Foundation

I'm on a mission to find a dupe for the amazing YSL Touche Eclat Foundation. It hasn't happened yet, but I have been getting pretty close and discovering some amazing foundations. This, the B. Radiant Illuminating Foundation, being one of them.
B. Radiant Illuminating Foundation in 010 Linen, £9.99 link
It's really nice in packaging, which is a huge bonus for me. The bottle is glass, and the fonts etc looks really nice on it. It feels more expensive than it is, and I love that it has a pump. It seems strange to comment on this, but the pump dispenses the perfect amount of foundation too.

It offers a dewy finish, and it brightens up the skin. The foundation offers a light coverage, but it can be built up a little. I helps me hide what I want, so I love it. It takes out the redness in my skin, helps tone down  but not erase the million freckles that  frequent my face and it evens out my skin tone.

It claims to have 8 hours wear, but without setting it, that's not going to happen. It lasts about 5 or 6 maybe if I don't set it but with a light dusting of powder it lasts 8 hours and even a little more.
B. Radiant Illuminating Foundation in 010 Linen
I have the shade 010 Linen, which is the lightest shade they offer. It is yellow toned, but if you are looking for a nice pale shade but want something a little more pink toned I would say 020 Rose Ivory is your best option. It matched my skin, but I wanted something a little more yellow to neutralize my pink skin tone.

You get 29ml, which is a slightly random amount but it's close to the standard 30ml you normally get with foundation and it is cruelty free.  It also contains UVA/UVB filters, and hyaluronic acid. It's great for my dry skin, for those with oily skin please go grab something else. This will slide of your face like nothing else. If you have combination skin, you might be able to get away with it, but I would say use a good primer and really set it with powder.

Overall, I love this B. Radiant  Illuminating foundation. I leaves a nice dewy finish and brightens the skin. I would highly recommend it for people with dry skin. You can get it from selected Superdrug stores, or online here for just £9.99.
