Jergens Ultra Healing Hand Cream

 

The Jergens Ultra Healing Hand Cream is a hand cream targets at those with extra dry hands. It claims to nourish and heal the dry skin to give visibly healthier looking hands. It contains vitamin C,  E and B5. 



When I read that this was for extra dry skin, I imaginged it would be similar to Concentrated Hand Creams like Palmers and Superdrug offer but it's not. It is quite a runny liquid, which means you get far to much come out of the tube when you go to use it. 



You only need a small amount because a little does go a long way. It doesn't sink in to quickly which means I don't carry this around with me. I do keep this at my bedside because I don't really mind it leaving a slight residue at night. While it does leave a residue, it really does moisturize your hands. I wouldn't say it's going to do anything if you have really dry skin, but for my just slightly dry skin it's great. 

There is a slight fragrance to this, but it's nothing really strong. I don't really know what it smells like but it's a soft, clean type of scent. If you want something fragrance free, this won't be for you. If you don't mind a short-lasting (is that a word?) scent, then you could get away with this.



It does contain mineral oil (or paraffinum liquidum) which I know if not good in beauty products. I'm a skin care dense head, so I have no idea if having mineral oil in a hand cream is bad. Do you? I know it's bad in products you use on your face, but does that transfer to your hands?

 You pay £3.49 for 75ml of the hand cream, which I would consider an average price for decent, drugstore/high street hand cream. I've noticed that the Jergens Hand Creams (this one and a daily moisture option)  are quite often on some kind of sale in Boots and Superdrug, so I would wait for those offers to pop up before purchasing.

Yardley Hand & Nail Cream | Royal English Daisy

Yardley Royal English Daisy Hand and Nail Cream is marketed as a easily adsorbed hand cream that contains Q10, shea butter, cocoa butter, grape seed oil, sweet almond oil and vitamin E. It claims to leave hands feeling soft and smooth whilst helping nails to strengthen up and remain conditioned also.  It's fragranced with their Royal English Daisy scent which is described as an elegant and fresh floral scent that is meant to be reminiscent of flower filled meadows in the spring.

I adore this hand cream. I love the formula, the price and mostly I adore the scent. 
 

The first thing you need to do is stop thinking of Yardley as something your Nan wears. She probably does, and a lot of there scents do smell like they belong on more mature women but this one if the 'kid' of the pack. I'm not saying it smells like candy or anything like that, we have Britney Spears Perfumes for that but it smells less like 'old ladies' than any of the other Yardley scents, and it's a great fragrance for the summer. 

I first smelt scent when I for a EDT sample  in a beauty box (She Said Beauty I think) and I was unsure about trying it. I put it to one side for quite some time before I gave it a sniff and I fell in love.  It's a nice fresh scent that while described as floral isn't really like a traditional floral scent. It's fresh, a little sweet and perfect for the spring/summer time. 

The hand cream is great for on the go. It doesn't leave my hands with any kind of residue and it leaves them feeling nice a moisturized. It's also nice that the scent lingers longer than other hand creams I've tried. It absorbs into my hands quickly, and does what a good hand cream is meant to do.

 

I would highly recommend this hand cream even if you haven't given the Royal English Daisy scent a sniff yet. I recommend it even more if you love the scent.  You can pick it up in Boots and Sainsbury's and also online here for just £3.99 per 100ml.

Lush Charity Pot | Hand and Body Lotion

 I feel bad saying I don't like this because it's a charity thing and it was quite cheap. I didn't go looking for this, but at the counter the lovely Lush lady offered it to me and I couldn't say no! I mean it's for charity. 

I'm not drawn to these kind of lotions because I don't like the vanilla/chocolate scent you get from cocoa butter. I know people go mental over the scent but I hate it. I knew it smelt like this but I can't say not when people offer me stuff, especially when it goes to a good cause. 

This lotion is decent. It does what it says on the tin, but I can't get past the scent. I've relegated to this to foot lotion because it's far away from my face. I tried it on my hands and I loved how it left them soft but the scent was not good. It lingered around a lot and I just couldn't even...

If you like to cocoa butter scent, then go for this. It keeps the skin soft and the scent lasts a long time. A little goes a long way so even this little 10g pot lasts a while. It sinks in quick which is a big plus for me and it's totally vegan. 

All of the money made from this  (minus the VAT that to government demand) goes to charity. It's not just the profit which some products like this are. The entire amount of money you pay (minus the VAT) goes to charity. I love that, and it's refreshing to know all of it not just 2p or something silly like that is going a good cause.
