Topshop Cream Blush | Head Over Heels

Topshop Cream Blush | Head Over Heels, £6. link

I'm in love with this beautiful product. I'm a huge fan of cream blushes, and these are by far my favorite of my favorites. Head over Heels is a lovely coral colour that can be used super subtly or it can be built up for a more dramatic look.

It is a cream to powder blush, but don't let that put you off. I have really dry skin and it works amazingly well and because of the powder finish it works for oily skin to. It is really blendable as well which is a total bonus.

The packaging is gorgeous too. I think it's quite original and feels more expensive than it actually is. I only have one issue, and it is very minor because the packaging is white the product tends to get everywhere and makes it look a little grubby.

Overall I like the blush and I love the price.I have all the colour they have in store now because I loved it so much and I would recommend them to anyone and everyone.

Brand Review | Topshop Makeup

Topshop Makeup, link.

I adore Topshop makeup, and if you have read my blog for any length of time I'm sure you know that the cream blushes they offer are my favorite! I discovered the brand about a year ago, and fell in love at first sight. The products feel expensive, are a good quality and are really affordable.

They offer a wide range of products from Nail Varnish to Highlighters to Lipsticks. I haven't tried everything from the range, but from what I have tried I can quite happily say it's a great brand.

The shade ranges for individual products isn't the best, but there are still a semi-nice variety of colours. They offer some great staple colours like classic pinks and reds, and they offer some great season shades too.

Cream Blush in Head Over Heels, £6. link.
The prices of all the products I saw were very reasonable considering the quality of the products. The cream blushes retail for £6 which I think is amazing. They are really nicely pigmented, blend amazingly well and last all day on my cheeks. My favorite shade is Head Over Heels, and you can work it in really well for a nice subtle look of pile it on for a more dramatic blush look.

Lipsticks in Nevada (link) and Innocent (link) , £8 each.
The lipsticks are amazing quality, and I think they are very comparable to MAC. I prefer the packaging of these to MAC because it's not your average packaging, but I still think it feels good quality and look really cute. They are about £8 each, which is pretty much the same price as the good quality lipsticks form the drugstore so I think it's fair. They have a really nice texture to them. They aren't full of glitter or anything like that which I adore, and I would compare the texture and finish to that of the MAC Cremesheen Lipsticks. They aren't matte, but they do have a "velvet" finish which stop them drying out your lips on an insane level but also make them last a very good amount of time on the lips.

I have tried a number of other products and they are just as amazing and the lipsticks and the blushes but they are the stand out products for me. The nail polish that I have tried seems amazing. It didn't chip too quickly, and the colours I tried only needed two coats to make them look great. The lip markers are great, but I would like to see some more colours.

I really want to try the tinted moisturiser and the highlighters they offer because I've heard great stuff about them, so they are next on my list.

Topshop Lipstick Review

Topshop Lipsticks in Innocent link Pillow Talk not online Rio Rio link and Hazard link.
If this is the first time reading my blog, you haven't heard me go on about how much I adore the Topshop makeup line. Well, I do adore it and the lipsticks are my favourite second only to the cream blushes. I've had quite a few shades but only had 4 when I was photographing things for this post! These are my favourite colours anyway.

The lipsticks are very comparable to higher end lipsticks that I've tried, and are so much cheaper. They are only £8 a tube but they feel so much more expensive. The packaging isn't cheap plastic, but expensive feeling metal. The twisting mechanism is well done because it works for one (unlike ELF) and it doesn't feel like it's going to break. The colour is also nice and I don't feel stupid pulling it out on the tube and applying it. I'm all for bright pink packaging but it can make me feel like a kid sometimes.

The formula of these lipsticks is amazing. They aren't full of shimmer and sparkle which I adore. They glide on the lips really easily, and last a really long time. The darker colours last a little longer than the lighter colours but I find that true with almost any lipstick/lip product. They leave a nice natural finish on the lips that isn't to glossy or shiny or too matte. They describe it as "satin" and "velvet" which I suppose is true. They swatch beautifully, and are really pigmented. Even the lighter shades are nicely pigmented, and beat out a couple of light MAC shades I've tried.

Top 6 Drugstore Lipsticks

I haven't tried all that many high end lipsticks, and I don't plan to any time soon because the ones that I have from the drugstore are amazing (at least for me)

So, that  leads me to this post all about my favourite drugstore lipsticks. As a little bonus, the colours of the lipsticks in these pictures are my favourite colours I've tried from the individual ranges.

L'Oreal Rouge Caresse, 17 Supreme Shine, Topshop Lips, L'Oreal Colour Riche, Rimmel Lasting Finish "Kate" Collection & 17 Mirror Shine.
These are technically a lipstick, but they are quite original and not like your standard lipstick. They feel exactly like a balm on the lips but still have a nice pop of colour in them. L'Oreal says it's "lightweight" and with a "delicate texture". I couldn't agree more because it doesn't feel like a lipstick and it creates a "veil of colour" as claimed by L'oreal and it leaves a gorgeous shine or glossy finish to the lips.

My favourite colour I've tried is Lovely Rose.

These are gorgeous lipsticks that don't dry out your lips and leave a nice long lasting colour on them. They are "lightweight" like they claim but they are buildable so the intensity differ depending on how you like it. They leave a nice finish on the lips to because they aren't matte or even demi-matte. They remind me on the cremesheen finishes from MAC in fact.

My favourite shade is a gorgeous red called Hot Stuff.

These feel expensive, in both the packaging and the product itself. I think the quality is comparable to MAC, and the "velvet finish" leaves you with a nice, long lasting colour that is semi-matte but not drying. The price is pretty awesome too when you think MAC is £14. These are only £8 a piece.

This changes a lot because they are all so nice but at the moment my favourite shade is Pillow Talk.

These are my best 'normal' lipsticks from the drugstore. They are really nicely pigmented for the most part and they have a nice range of brights and more natural shades. Some of them can be a little drying but they are long lasting so I just pop a good balm on before hand to keep my lips a little more moisturized. The packaging is really nice and they aren't too expensive if you think about what you pay for higher end lipsticks.

My favourite shade from this range is 233 Boreal, and it's a great dupe for MAC Blankety.

I love Rimmel as a brand, and more specifically I love their lipsticks. All the ranges they offer are amazing, but the Kate Moss collection are my favourite. They have some amazing colours that aren't full of shimmer and glitter, are nice and creamy and last a long time. I think there is a colour for everyone because it ranges from a nude shade to red to a dark purple.

My favourite shade is 02 and I think it's a nice dupe for Girl About Town but I can't be certain.

I think these have been repackaged now which makes me sad because I love the blue tube. It gives a little something extra but oh well. The lipsticks are awesome. They are very moiturising and the ones that I've tried are quite sheer but I love that. They are the perfect every day lipsticks, and if you hate drying lips or high maintenance lips these are for you.

My favourite shade is Beehive which is a close dupe for Hue by MAC.

All my favourite shades are swatched below if you fancy a peak!

L'Oreal Rouge Caresse Lipstick in Lovely Rose, 17 Supreme Shine Lipstick in Hot Stuff, Topshop Lips Lipstick in Pillow Talk, L'Oreal Color Riche Lipstick in Boreal, Rimmel Lasting Finish "Kate" Lipstick in 02 and 17 Mirror Shine Lipstick in Beehive

Awesome Blushes on a Budget

I am on a spending ban. I am literally so close to running out of cash that I’m down to buying food to live on and that’s it. So, there won’t be any new reviews for a while but I was looking through my collection deciding what I could post about and the blushes I have stood out to me. I don’t have the best or biggest collection of blushes because they aren’t my favourite part of makeup, but the ones I have I do really like and I thought I would share my opinions on my favourites with you.

ELF Blush and Bronzing duo link, ELF Blush link, Topshop Cream Blush link, NYX Rouge Cream Blush link and Natural Collection blush link.

ELF Contouring Blush and Bronzing Duo
This is a pretty popular duo I believe, and I can see why. It’s a great way to get a bronzer and blush that complement each other really well and for such a cheap price. I’ve also heard that this is a dupe for NarsOrgasm and Laguna, which is great considering it’s £26.25 cheaper than the Nars compact. It’s got shimmer in it, which can be noticed if you are to heavy handed but overall it’s a nice natural looking duo that can work for even pale girls.
I know that ELF can be a bit hit and miss, so this might not be the greatest thing for everyone but I adore this blush. It’s a nice bright pink colour that isn’t to pigmented. That would normally be a bad thing but because of the brightness of the colour the lower than average pigmentation makes it easy to use. It gives a nice flush to the cheeks and it’s a nice matte colour so you don’t get chunks of glitter on your face.
These blushes are only £1.99, and they are amazing. They are better quality than most more expensive blushes that I’ve tried. They are nicely pigmented, super blendable and they last a decent amount of time. The shade pink cloud is one of my favourites, and one of the brightest in the range and the other colours are more natural. It’s one of the only brands in the drugstore that I’ve found that do really neutral/nude coloured.

I’ve raved about this until I’m blue in the face so I won’t say too much. These are fantastic, and I think I own every colour that they had in the Oxford Street store. They blend nicely, they have amazing pigmentation and they packaging is lovely. The finish on these is nice to because it goes on like a cream but sets and lasts like a powder.  Just all around fabulous, in my opinion.

This blush is gorgeous, and a really nice neutral colour with golden shimmer. It’s a little too creamy, but the colour is lovely so I work with it. It works nicely when you use a brush or your fingers. It’s a little hard to get a hold of in the UK but I’ll link it above. I know these are easier to get in the US. If you’re from the UK, and putting a NYX order in online would highly recommend this.

Rock A Red Lip!

Vaseline, Topshop, NYX, 17, Topshop & Maybelline

I used to be scared of red lips because I have quite small lips and darker colours or brighter colours make them look smaller but I thought "screw it" after lusting after red colours for a long time. They actually look better than I thought they would on me and I really like the combination of the red lips against my pale skin tone. These are my favourite reds right now!

Vaseline Rosy Lips, Topshop Hazard, NYX Chaos, 17 Hot Stuff, Topshop Rio Rio and Maybelline Baby Lips Cherry Me

Vaseline Lip Therapy Rosy Lips link
This is a great product if you're scared of a red lip because you can get that sheer wash of colour without the 'Bamb!' in your face impact of other reds. It's also good if you have dry lips because red lipsticks ten to highlight the dry patches on your lips.

Topshop Lips Lipstick in Hazard link
This isn't as dark as it looks in the tube, which disappointed me at first becuase that was the colour that I wanted but I still love this lipstick. Topshop lipsticks are amazing quality and I adore them, and this one is no different. It glides on nicely, and stays put which is great.

NYX Lipstick in Chaos link
This is the ultimate autumn red in my opinion. It's blue toned, so if you don't like that don't bother but it's the most gorgeous deep red colour that isn't drying or anything like that and it lasts a long time. It's a super intense colour on the lips which screams 'fall' to me.
17 Supreme Shine Lipstick in Hot Stuff link
I adore these range of lipsticks and own quite a few but this is one of my favourites because it's a nice red colour. It's actually pretty similar to Rio Rio by topshop but just a little different which gives me a reason to own both. I love the finish on this because it leaves a nice sheen on the lips and I like that it's not to high maintenance like most red lipsticks.
Topshop Lips Lipstick in Rio Rio link
I won't say much on this because you can read my review here! But it's a nice bright red that is also a dupe for a limited edition MAC shade called Sail Le Vile.
Maybelline Baby Lips in Cherry Me link
I hadn't tried this before I brought this off a blog sale and now I know what all the fuss is about. They are a beautiful lip balm and I love this one especially because I gives a nice wash of red colour to the lips and leaves a nice glossy effect too! Maybelline, please bring these to the UK. I need more of them in my life!

Topshop Lipstick in Rio Rio & MAC Sail Le Vile Dupe

I recently picked up a Topshop lipstick in Rio Rio and LOVE it. Topshop makeup seems to be all over the place at the moment, and I can see why. The range has such great stuff that I'm not surprised people are raving about it. I have tried a number of things from the range, and second only to the cream blushes these lipsticks are my favorites.

I have 3 shades but this is my favorite. Rio Rio is a gorgeous bright red colour that I think is the perfect summer red. It's also nearly exactly the same as a MAC lipstick. If you managed to get your hands on Sail Le Vile in the most recent MAC sailor collection you're a lucky bug! I adore mine, and I wear it a lot. But for those who didn't manage to grab one, this is the perfect dupe. There is one very slight difference and that is that the Topshop lipstick gives a little more a sheen when on the lips. The colours are identical and they wear for the same amount of time on the lips. I wish I'd found this first because it would have saved me £6 but what's done is done.

I love the packaging as well. It feels really nice, and more expensive than it is and the casing is metal rather than the cheaper feeling plastic.

It's really pigmented which I love, and unlike many reds I've tried it's not to drying. It does dry my lips out a little but it stays put so well that I just pop some balm over the top when I feel I need to. It's almost like a satin finish, with a little more sheen.

Overall this is a brilliant lipstick, that I'm glad I've added to my collection.

Friday Favourites | Topshop Cream Blushes

Hey guys,

So, I finally have a blog schedule down so my life feels a little more organized. Fridays will hereby be known as Friday Favorites here, and strangely enough it will feature some of my most favorite products.

To kick it off, I'm sharing my favourite Topshop blushes!

I have three that I absolutely adore, and they are Flush, Head Over Heels and Prime Time.

Topshop Cream Blushes in Prime Time, Head over Heels and Flush
From left to right we have Flush, Head Over Heels and Prime Time.

Topshop Cream Blushes in Prime Time, Head over Heels and Flush

I love them for two reasons!
1) The formula
I love cream blushes but sometimes they can be hard to work with. The cream to powder formula of these makes them really simply to use and they almost always look perfect without any work.
2) The colours
I'm not one for nude blushes or anything like that. I wear a blush to add a nice flush of colour, and I would just go bare if I wanted a nude colour. These colours are amazing! They are brilliantly pigmented, not nude but not to crazy and so so so worth the £6 you pay for them!

Here are the swatches of these beauties! First we have Flush, second is Head over Heels and lastly it's Prime Time.

what are your favourite topshop blushes?

thanks for reading guys

Top 5 Blushes | YSL, Topshop and ELF

I never used to be one for blush, but recently they have become my obsession. Now, with summer supposedly just around the corner, cream blushes have found there way out of storage and into my makeup bag.

So, today I wanted to share with you my top 5 blushes of the moment. So, in not particular order, I give you my favourite blushes of the moment.

Top 5 Blushes

5. ELF Studio Blush – Pink Passion

ELF Studio Blush in Pink Pasion

At only £3.50, this matte, bright pink blush is a favourite of mine. It's decently pigments, the packaging is nice and it blends really nicely. It can fade a little though out the day, but I don't mind considering the price. A total must have for me!

4. Topshop Cream Blush – Head Over Heels

Topshop Cream Blush in Head Over Heels

This is the only orange toned blush I've found that I can wear. Usually they look awful on my but with the pink tone also in this blush these look great! It's great for summer and the cream to powder formula makes it long wearing.  It easy to apply and super blendable, so a great all round winner for me. Read my full review here!

3. YSL Blush Variation - Shade 2

YSL Blush Variation in 2

I fell in love with this the moment I got it. Not only is it super luxurious but it's a great colour and formulation. I love the colour, and it leaves the most amazing finish to the cheeks. There is  a little hint of shimmer in there but it doesn't make you look like Edward Cullen, but rather leaves a nice luminous finish to the cheeks.
2. Topshop Cream Blush – Neon Rose

Topshop Cream Blush in Neon Rose

I've already said I love the formulation of these cream blushes, so that gives this one big tick right away. The colour of this gives it another huge tick as well. The beautiful yet subtle pink colour works with almost any makeup look and works great on my skin tone. Read my full review here and here!
Topshop Cream Blush – Flush

Topshop Cream Blush in Flush

Yes, this is the third Topshop blush in my favourites but I love them just that much. This colour is my favourite of them all. The bright pink can be blended to a more subtle look or built up to make the cheeks pop! It's just the right tone of pink for my skin tone.  Read my full review here and here!
