Topshop/Primark/Boots 100,000 Page View Giveaway

Recently I hit over 100,000 page views on my little blog and as a huge thank you to everyone that has stopped by over the past year and bit I wanted to do a giveaway for you all. I sat and thought about what I could put together but couldn't think of anything that would suit everybody. So, instead of me picking out something specific I thought I would let you do some shopping of your own and giveaway a gift voucher.  I was going to stick to just boots but in case anyone didn't fancy some makeup I thought I would give you a choice. So, for this giveaway you have the chance to choose either a Topshop, Primark or Boots voucher with £20 credit. YSL Baby Doll Mascara + 50,000 Page View Giveaway!

The YSL Volume Effet Faux Cils Babydoll Mascara is the latest mascara offering from Yves Saint Laurent. It comes in the standard but gorgeous YSL gold tube, with pink writing. The plastic wand has short and firm bristles that are evenly places over the skinny wand. One side has slightly longer bristles, while the opposite has shorter bristles to catch the smaller lashes .




The firm plastic wand enables you to really work the wand from base to tip, giving the lashes a good coating of mascara and a nice amount of lift if just one coat. 


A second coat gave my lashes a nice separate look, along with lift, length and volume. I couldn't leave to long in between coats thought because I found that once the mascara dried, it was hard to add another coat without creating a 'spider' lash look! 

The wand is small enough though so you can reach all the lashes that might be hard to reach. It works great for the shorter lashes in the inner corner, and the bottom lashes.  




The colour is super black, meaning you have dark lashes in just on coat. It's really long wearing, and I found it lasted all day without smudging or flaking. 



Overall, I'm really impressed with this.
 The only reason I was hesitant to buy this because of the stories I've heard about how quick Yves Saint Laurent mascara's dry up.  I have had it about a month now and it still hasn't dried out which is a good start for a YSL mascara.

Giveaway | The Skin Regime: Boot Camp for Beautiful Skin

The Skin Regime is a short, honest book written by Dana Ramos. The book focuses of skincare and other beauty products that can actually help skin rather that fail to live up to the claims companies market them with. 

 I found the book to be a quick and honest read, and I found myself nodding along with many of the points made. It's written in a way that means you can read quickly and the points in the book are made in way that means you can easily refer back to a section you want to read again. 

It's different from other 'beauty books I've read' because it's written like a blog post. If you're reading this, I can only assume you like to read blogs. If you like to read post on skincare, myths and things that will REALLY work for you, then I highly recommend this book. 

Not only if the book a fab read, but if purchased some of the profits are donated to non-profit organizations. Anything for charity gets an extra tick in my book! 

I have started to try and stick to the plan the books lays out. I will do updates as I get further into the scheme. I want to see if it truly works, though I have little doubt.
