Yardley Royal English Daisy Eau De Toilette

If you are like me, you've stereotyped Yardley as "that old lady" scent or brand, and have never given it the time of day. I have to admit I did that for such a long time until I got a sample of the Royal English Daisy perfume in a Glossy Box.

Some of the scents (Lavender, I talking about you) are slightly "old lady" and might not be to the younger persons taste but the newer scents from the brand are actually nice! I was shocked, but I fell in love with the Royal English Daisy scent and I now own three bottles of the Eau De Toilette, three of the Body Spray, the Hand Cream and the body lotion. (Oops?)

The Royal English Daisy scent was released as limited edition scent to Yardley around the time of the Royal Wedding. It is inspired by the Princess, Kate Middleton and it's meant to appeal to the younger audience. It does just that, and the marketing ploy of using the ever popular Kate Middleton works because it made me want it even more and I'm not even hugely bothered by the Middleton craziness.

It's described as a elegant, fresh  and green floral fragrance that is meant to be reminiscent of flower filled meadows in the spring sunshine. Sounds picaresque does it not? Well it gets even better! It's meant to open with a burst of energetic top notes of green leaves and apple, a heart of hyacinth and white rose. The bases notes are warm hints of sandalwood and musk.

Fragrance descriptions always make me laugh because they really do sound like something that belongs in some kind of novel. They are really over the top but to simplify the craziness that is the above description it's a light floral scent with a hint of sweetness in there. I think it would be great for people of all ages.

The scent doesn't last all that long on the skin, but because it's a light scent and the perfume is so cheap I don't mind reapplying it throughout the day and using a ton of it first thing in the morning. It's a  great day to day perfume, and especially great for the summer when you don't want to be weighed down by heavy scents.

April Favourites 2013 | Soap and Glory, Chanel & More

Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream in Medium, Yardley Royal English Daisy Hand Cream, Soap and Glory Glow Job, Maybelline Fit Me Concealer in 15, Cosmopolitan Beauty Blender, YSL Rouge Voluptue Shine Lipstick in 8 Pink In Confidence, MUA Liquid Liner in Brown, MaxFactor Masterpiece Max Mascara, Maybelline Fit Me Powder in 120, Daniel Sandler Waterproof Liner in Black Velvet, MAC Pro-Longwear Blusher in Stay Pretty and Chanel Coco Mademoiselle.

Another month has past, and we are all that much closer to summer actually appearing! Today, I have a post all about the things I've been loving in the month of April.

Maybelline BB Cream in Medium, £7.99 (link)

I use this on super natural days, or as a primer when I want heavier coverage. I'm using Medium at the moment to give my skin a bit of a boost in the colour department as summer approaches but light has been a favourite of mine since it was released.

Maybelline Fit Me Concealer in 15 , £5.99 (link)

I love this concealer, and I use it for all of my problem areas. It conceals blemishes, under-eye circles and redness. It lasts all day and the formula is brilliant. I did try this before and found the shade to be too dark, but who knew that the first shade (10) isn't the lightest. I found a lighter shade (15) and now it's perfect all round.

Maybelline Fit Me Powder in 120, £5.99 (link)

I love this powder. It;s a nice, light weight powder that sets my makeup without making it look cakey. It doesn't offer that much coverage which I actually like, and the shade works well with my lighter and darker foundations.

Cosmopolitan Beauty Blending Sponge (link)

No matter what foundation I used, this sponge works with it. Some of my brushes only work with certain foundations but this working with everything. It gives a nice flawless coverage without any caking and it even works with cream blushes to get a nice natural look on the skin.

Soap and Glory Glow Job  (link)

I picked this up when Soap and Glory was on 3 for 2 in Boots and fell in love. You need to make sure that you put this on in a mirror because of the bronzing beads in the lotion but it's a great 'radiance' mosituriser that is great for spring/summer. It's not a self tanner so don't fear, and it doesn't make you look like a TOWIE extra with the bronzing beads so don't fear either.

MAC Pro-Longwear Blush in Stay Pretty (link)

After hunting for a bright spring time blush, I found this beauty. It's a nice long wearing bright pink that lasts all day on my cheeks, is a nice fine milled powder and amps up a look. The colour is great for the spring summer time. I wear this with super simple eye makeup and nude lips to make it pop and it looks great.

Max Factor Masterpiece Max Mascara (link)

I love this mascara, and am about to go out and purchase the full size. I for this in a little Max Factor gift set, and am so glad that I got to try it. It's a nice rubber wand that allows you to get super black and voluminous lashes. It can clump a little bit to much if you want more than 2 layers, but two layers is great for super amped up lashes.

YSL Rouge Volupte Shine Lipstick in 8 Pink in Confidence (link)

I picked this up at the #LDNBBMeet and have worn it nearly every day since. The colour is easy just to throw on with almost any look. It's nice and moisturizing, not drying in anyway and it stays on my lips. The colour is not to nude that you look dead, but also nude enough that it works perfectly everyday.

MUA Liquid Eyeliner in Brown (link)

I'm trying to get away from black liner for the summer, and this is my way of weaning myself off of it. It's a great liquid liner with a nice felt tip type brush. It's only £1, and it lasts all day on my eyes. It doesn't flake or smudge once it's dry, and the brown is just less harsh than black while still giving a nice definition to the eyes.

Daniel Sandler Velvet Eyeliner in Black (link)

Even though I just said that I am trying to get away from black, I cannot give up my black liner in my water line just yet! This liner is amazing! It is super pigments, creamy but not to creamy, and it lasts all day. It's really black, and I love that its twist up. I never sharpen pencils, I just go find another one so a twist up  one is perfect for me.

Yardley Royal English Daisy Hand Cream (link)

Review HERE

This hand cream is great, but it's the scent that's my favourite. I adore this scent from Yardley and have the EDT in my bag at all times. I want the shower gel and body lotion just to smell like this all the time. It's a nice light, young, floral scent perfect for spring/summer.

Chanel Coco Mademoiselle (link)

Oh, where have you been all my life? This is the perfect scent for me. It lasts ages on the skin, it's a nice mature scent without making you smell like your nan or something and it's chanel. You only need 1 spray to smell like this all day, and the scent is gorgeous.

Yardley Hand & Nail Cream | Royal English Daisy

Yardley Royal English Daisy Hand and Nail Cream is marketed as a easily adsorbed hand cream that contains Q10, shea butter, cocoa butter, grape seed oil, sweet almond oil and vitamin E. It claims to leave hands feeling soft and smooth whilst helping nails to strengthen up and remain conditioned also.  It's fragranced with their Royal English Daisy scent which is described as an elegant and fresh floral scent that is meant to be reminiscent of flower filled meadows in the spring.
Yardley Hand & Nail Cream
Yardely Royal English Daisy Hand and Nail Cream. 100ml. £3.99. link

I adore this hand cream. I love the formula, the price and mostly I adore the scent
Yardley Hand & Nail Cream

The first thing you need to do is stop thinking of Yardley as something your Nan wears. She probably does, and a lot of there scents do smell like they belong on more mature women but this one if the 'kid' of the pack. I'm not saying it smells like candy or anything like that, we have Britney Spears Perfumes for that but it smells less like 'old ladies' than any of the other Yardley scents, and it's a great fragrance for the summer.
Yardley Hand & Nail Cream
I first smelt scent when I for a EDT sample  in a beauty box (She Said Beauty I think) and I was unsure about trying it. I put it to one side for quite some time before I gave it a sniff and I fell in love.  It's a nice fresh scent that while described as floral isn't really like a traditional floral scent. It's fresh, a little sweet and perfect for the spring/summer time.

Yardley Hand & Nail Cream The hand cream is great for on the go. It doesn't leave my hands with any kind of residue and it leaves them feeling nice a moisturized. It's also nice that the scent lingers longer than other hand creams I've tried. It absorbs into my hands quickly, and does what a good hand cream is meant to do.

I would highly recommend this hand cream even if you haven't given the Royal English Daisy scent a sniff yet. I recommend it even more if you love the scent.  You can pick it up in Boots and Sainsbury's and also online here for just £3.99 per 100ml.

And if you're a Kate Middleton fan, this fragrance was inspired by her.

Haul

Palmer's Olive Oil Formula Replenishing Conditioner (link)

Price: £2.95
Where: Love Afro Cosmetics
Why:  I'm on a mission to try and help my hair. It's been dyed and bleached to within a inch of a its life and it's crying out for moisture and life. I've tried just about everything in the drugstore, so before moving onto high end expensive stuff that might or might not work I thought I would give this a go.

Doo Gro Triple Strength Medicated Hair Vitalizer (link)

Price: £3.95
Where: Love Afro Cosmetics
Why: My hair is at the length where it just won't grow any more and I want something that is going to stimulate growth. I want it longer, and this seemed like something my hair would respond to. It's for severely damaged hair (that's mine) and it's meant to help moisturize and help hair grow. We will see.

Le Kair Natural Carrot Oil Cholesterol Creme (link)

Price:£1.95
Where: Love Afro Cosmetics
Why: I got this for the same reasons and the Palmer's conditioner. The idea is something quite foreign to me, and I'm not 100% how to use it but I hope it helps add some moisture and life back into me hair.

This One 'Get Glam Locks Again' Replenishing Treatment (link)

Why: I think this a new brand, and it was on offer in Superdrug for just £3 an item. I thought I would grab something while it had an introductory offer, and I grabbed this. It's a conditioning mask for normal and colour treated hair, so I thought it would be good for my dyed hair.

YSL Rouge Pur Couture Lipstick in 25 Taupe Raphael (link)

  Price: £22.50 (Usually £25)
Where: Debenhams

Why:  I've wanted a YSL lippy for sooo long. They are like the ultimate luxury item in my opinion. I really wanted the Rouge Volupture one, but they were out of the colour I wanted and this was the closes one I could find. It's not quite a pretty but it's still pretty darn luxurious.

Rimmel Apocolips in Celestial (link)

Price: £5.99
Where: Superdrug
Why:  I'm not sure why I got this because I have the nude one and I'm not a fan. I think I thought that maybe a different colour would be better. It's a little better than the nude one but I still don't understand the hype behind these things. Sorry Rimmel.
(read my Nude Eclipse review here)

L'Oreal Caresse Glam Shine Stain Splash in 400 Eve (link)

Price: £7.99 (BOGO 1/2 price)
Where: Superdrug
Why:  I've wanted to try the YSL glossy stains, but I cannot justify the price on something I know I might not like so I thought I would give these a go because they are essentially the same thing. I like it but it's not love, so I'm glad I got this and not the YSL one.
