Dainty Doll Blusher in You Are My Sunshine

Dainty Doll Powder Blush You Are My Sunshine

Dainty Doll Powder Blush
I'm not going to go on too long with the post because I've done about 3 posts on Dainty Doll blushes. I adore them and the fact that they were only £1.99 makes it even better. I've fallen in love with just about all of them, apart from one that goes grey on my skin.

Dainty Doll Powder Blush You Are My Sunshine Label

This blush is one of the many blushes similar to Nars Orgasm. I don't own Nars Orgasm, but I've swatched it so many times and just found that I've got a few to similar, and even better than it. The Sleek blush in Rose Gold is a really close dupe, and this one is too. This is slightly more orange toned, where as Orgasm is slight more pink but it's really close in colour.

I find this, and other Orgasm dupes better because they are not glittery. I'm not a fan of glitter in blushes but a bit of shimmer is great. With this blush it offers the colour and effect of Orgasm without chunky glitter.

Dainty Doll Powder Blush You Are My Sunshine Finger Swatch

It's a nice pink/orange blush with heaps of gold shimmer running through it. It's a nice spring/summer blush and because of the glow it gives you don't need a highlighter either.

It lasts ages on the skin, it's really pigmented and the packaging is gorgeous. You can read my reviews of the other blushes here and here for specifics because everything I said on them were exactly the same for this one.

Dainty Doll Eyeliner Pencil in 002 I'm So Pretty

Dainty Doll Eyeliner Pencil in 002 I'm So Pretty
The Dainty Doll Eyeliner Pencils claim to be perfect for adding either strong definition or adding a smokey effect. They are supposedly soft kohl liners that allow you to define and line your eyes for that added shine. The RRP for these pencils is £10.50, but you can pick them up for just 99p on Fragrance Direct at the moment.

Dainty Doll Eyeliner Pencil in 002 I'm So Pretty

I picked up the shade 002 I'm So Pretty because it looked like a colour that I would wear most often. It's a dark/medium brown colour free of any kind of shimmer or glitter.

Dainty Doll Eyeliner Pencil in 002 I'm So Pretty

The pencil itself if very stiff and 'creamy' is probably the last word I would use to describe this. It drags on the skin, and takes quite a lot of pressure to get the pay off you see in the swatch above.

Dainty Doll Eyeliner Pencil in 002 I'm So Pretty
I like the casing, like most Dainty Doll products. It's simple, elegant and sleek. The gold branding helps make that so.

Dainty Doll Eyeliner Pencil in 002 I'm So Pretty
The colour, once I got it on my eyes, was long lasting. It did fade a little over the 8 or so hours I wore it but it didn't smudge or end up sliding of my eyes. It's nice to have a long lasting pencil but I'm not sure the effort of putting it on is worth it.

If you wanted to give this Dainty Doll Eyeliner Pencil in I'm So Pretty then you can pick it up here on Fragrance Direct for just 99p.

Dainty Doll Blusher in 001 Hippy Shake

Dainty Doll Blusher in 001 Hippy Shake

Dainty Doll blushes are smooth long lasting powder blushes that can create a subtle hint of flush on the skin or make your cheeks take centre stage in your makeup look.

Dainty Doll Blusher in 001 Hippy Shake

The shade that I'm going to review for you today is 001 Hippy Shake, which is a pale lavender/pink colour in the pan.

Dainty Doll Blusher in 001 Hippy Shake

This was the one Dainty Doll blush that I wasn't sure on when I got it. I knew that these blushes cater to fairer skin, but this one takes it to the extreme.

Dainty Doll Blusher in 001 Hippy Shake

It's a very pale lavender colour that appears quite grey on the skin. I can't really wear this as a blush but I can get away with it as an eyeshadow so I'll give that a go

The compact is gorgeous, just like I've said in my other Dainty Doll reviews. It's a nice size and comes with a nice mirror for on the go touch ups through out the day. The packaging is sleek and elegant, and I love the gold branding on the front.

Dainty Doll Blusher in 001 Hippy Shake

Just like the other blushes in this range the lasting power is brilliant. It's not quite up there with shades like You Are My Sunshine but for being such a pale colour the pay off and lasting power is great.

You can pick this up online here from Fragrance Direct for just £1.99. That's a massive £11.51 saving on the RRP.

Dainty Doll Concealer Pen 001

Dainty Doll Concealer Pen 001

I'm sure the Dainty Doll reviews are all over blogs at the moment, what with them being on £1.99 on  Fragrance Direct, so I thought I would add my two cents into the discussion and share my review on the Dainty Doll Concealer Pen

Dainty Doll Concealer Pen 001

I picked up Shade 001 because I wanted a really light concealer to go under my eyes. I find it hard to find something light enough to have that brightening effect, and I thought this would be great. I was really excited to try it, and considering the RRP I had high hopes.

Dainty Doll Concealer Pen 001

I was disappointed

This concealer is so strange. It's a nice colour until it's fully blended and then it offers nothing. It has no coverage, it blends to nothing on the skin and it has a really strange texture to it.

Dainty Doll Concealer Pen 001

The packaging is pretty standard for concealer pens. It's a pen like tube with a button on the bottom that, when clicked, pushes the product up through the brush tip applicator. The black packaging and simple gold branding looks sleek, elegant and classy but while the packaging might be nice the product sucks.

Dainty Doll Concealer Pen 001

I wanted to love this but the weird grainy texture and fact that it offers no coverage leaves me with no other option that to chuck this away. At least I only wasted £1.99 rather than nearly £14 on it.

If you wanted to try this you can pick it up for £1.99 on Fragrance Direct here at the moment.

Dainty Doll Powder Blusher in 002 My Girl

Dainty Doll Powder Blusher in 002 My GirlDainty Doll, as I'm sure you know, is a brand that was created by Nicola Roberts to specifically tailor to the fairer skin tone. They offer nearly everything from foundation to eyeliners to blushers and at the moment you can find quite a few of their product for just £1.99 on Fragrance Direct

The brand is not tested on animals, which makes me love it even more.

Dainty Doll Powder Blusher in 002 My GirlThe blushes are described as highly pigmented, long lasting and buildable blush, that has vitamin A, E and C in it to help with all kinds of things like age spots and wrinkles. I don't really look for that in a blush but every little helps right? I can't really say if those things happen, but I know that it is long lasting and buildable.

Dainty Doll Powder Blusher in 002 My Girl

Today I have a review of their powder blush in the shade 002 My Girl, which is a beautiful light baby pink with a slight hint of silver shimmer. In the pan, it looks like the powder version of Paper Roses from the same brand. It's also quite similar to Candy Cane from B, but when swatched it has a more intense colour payoff that those two.

Dainty Doll Powder Blusher in 002 My Girl

This blush gives a lovely glow to the skin when worn, and the silver shimmer isn't detectable at all so you won't be a disco ball. It's insanely pigmented for such a light colour, and blends over my skin like a dream. It didn't go patchy or anything like that and it works well with all the brushes I've tried it with.

Dainty Doll Powder Blusher in 002 My Girl

The compact that it comes in is beautiful. It's a nice round compact that's entirely black with just the gold branding on the front. To me it's sleek and elegant, and because of the nice large mirror inside, it's great to carry around should you need to  touch up during that day.

Dainty Doll Powder Blusher in 002 My Girl

If you haven't read my review on the Dainty Doll Cream Blush in Paper Roses, then you can read that here.

You can get this blush, and other Dainty Doll products on Fragrance Direct for just £1.99 here. The blushes are usually £13.50, so that's a massive £11.51 saving on the RRP.

Dainty Doll Mascara and Eyeliner Duo

Dainty Doll Mascara and Eyeliner Duo

As you have probably seen on my blog over the last week or so I have recently purchased a few Dainty Doll product, one of those being the Mascara and Eyeliner Duo.

Dainty Doll Mascara and Eyeliner Duo

This Dainty Doll Mascara and Eyeliner Duo claims to be an essential for all makeup lovers because of the rich liner which effortlessly glides on and the lash boosting mascara adds a lovely finish touch to a look

Dainty Doll Mascara and Eyeliner Duo

Sadly, this doesn't live up to that claims. It's not completely terrible, but it's not great either.

The mascara doesn't hit the mark for me. It's okay if you want something that is going to give you a really natural looks but it offers nothing that I'm looking for in a mascara. I have short, blonde lashes so I need something lengthening and volumising and really black. This doesn't do that. It offers a little bit of colour to my lashes but doesn't give them the 'boost' it claims to give.

Dainty Doll Mascara and Eyeliner Duo

The eyeliner isn't brilliant either. If you have the talent for not blinking while it dries you might be able to get away with it. This liner takes forever to dry and the colour is not buildable. The black colour is sheer at best, and when you try to add another line on top the colour just disappears. I just found that this got everywhere because the formula takes forever to dry. The applicator is nice though, so it's a shame the formula sucks.

Overall, I'm not a fan of this but if you fancy picking it up you can do so on Fragrance Direct here for just £1.99. It's quite the bargain considering the RRP is £17.50.

Dainty Doll Cream Blusher in 001 Paper Roses

Dainty Doll Cream Blusher in 001 Paper Roses
Dainty Doll, as a brand, intrigues me to no end. Being pale, I've always found it hard to find products that suit my skin tone.  Dainty Doll is a brand created by fellow pale patty, Nicola Roberts from Girls Aloud. The range was created to enhance the beauty of the fairer skin tone. It also is a cruelty free brand, and doesn't test on animals which makes it appeal to me just that little bit more.

Dainty Doll Cream Blusher in 001 Paper Roses

So, when I saw the range at a ridiculously discounted price on Fragrance Direct,  I knew that I had to pick some bits up. One of those items was the Cream Blusher in Paper Roses.

Dainty Doll Cream Blusher in 001 Paper Roses

Dainty Doll Cream Blusher in 001 Paper Roses

With the British Summer supposedly just around the corner, I thought a cream blush would be a great addition to my collection. The product claims to be a soft natural cream blush that can be used lightly or in excess to create looks from  something super subtle to something of the more dramatic kind.

Dainty Doll Cream Blusher in 001 Paper Roses

The cream is lovely, and leaves a beautiful glowy look to the skin. It feels lightweight on the skin, but still offers a sheer wash of colour that enhance a natural flush. I found the cream to be extremely blendable, and didn't have any issues with it becoming cakey or patchy like some cream blushers have gone in the past on my skin.

Dainty Doll Cream Blusher in 001 Paper Roses Swatched

The colour,  001 Paper Roses, is a gorgeous light pink with a very subtle hint of silver shimmer running through it. The shimmer is undetectable on the skin though  so it's nothing to worry about if you aren't a fan of shimmery blushes. Now, because the range is created for fair skin tones, I don't think this would suit skintone over NC/NW 25 at a push. I'm NC15 though and I adore it on my skin.

Finally, the packaging is lovely. The round compact is completely black, with just the name label on the back, and the gold branding on the front. It feels very secure, and the closure is nice and tight so you don't have to worry about it popping open in your makeup bag. The compact has a nice big mirror on the inside that is great for touch ups throughout the day should you need too.

Dainty Doll Cream Blusher in 001 Paper Roses

I only have one issue, and it's something that is actually quite irrelevant but the compact doesn't have the name on it. It carries the number of the back, but the name "Paper Roses" is only on the box. I don't really want to keep the box, but I don't want to forget the name in case I want to blog about it in the future.

I would highly recommend this blush to anyone who loves a good cream blush and who is of the pale variety.

You can pick this up online at Fragrance Direct for just £1.99, instead of the £13.50 RRP. It's a total bargain.
