L'Oreal Colour Infallible Eyeshadow in 021 Sahara Treasure

WARNING: Prepare yourself for a post FULL of raving about this product.

The L'Oreal Colour Infallible Eyeshadow in Sahara Treasure in my favourite single eyeshadow from the drugstore. I would say ever but this comes second to Woodwinked from MAC because that shade is just so unique.

It is a antiqued gold shimmer shade, and is perfect for the quick and easy one shadow look I like to rock on days when I'm just heading out to run errands or am off to uni. It blends perfectly, and when it is blended it looks like you've put something in crease as well as on the lid because of the multi dimensional tone in the shade. It looses some of the shimmer when blending so it almost appears as if you have something a little more matte running through the socket.

I have found that it doesn't crease on my without a primer, and I have found that it lasts all day without fading. You can use this wet or dry. Dry it looks stunning, but wet you get this amazing foiled effect that gives you an even more of a contrasting look between the lid and crease if you blend it to create a one shadow look.

The shadow itself is almost a hybrid between a pigment and pressed shadow. It is a pigment, the texture and pigment of something like that, but it is pressed down by the stopped in the tub. And you do need to keep the stopper in or the shadow will crumble if you are a little to rough with it.

The packaging is really nice. I think it feels more luxurious than it's price, and the quality of the shadow feels like you paid so much more for it. I have a few other shades, and wished they had more. I would buy more shades if they release them.

So, overall I ADORE this shadow and it's very close to my all time favourite shadow EVER. I highly recommend getting this, or other shades of this range, because you won't regret it.

They are £6.99 from every where that stocks L'Oreal  or here online but you can always find L'oreal on offer some where so it should work out cheaper for you too.

ELF Long Lasting Lustrous Eyeshaodw in Confetti *Review and Swatch*

I've heard people rave and rave about these the ELF Long Lasting Lustrous Eyeshadows, and I'm sure someone said they were a dupe for something from a brand like Armarni or maybe even Chanel but personally I'm not a huge fan. I did prefer the darker shade I picked up but both of the shades I got seemed a little to sheer, to patchy and just not what I expected.

Confetti if a white shade full of white/silver shimmer. When the shadow is swatched it seems a little white but is mostly just shimmer but on the eye it is even more sheer and would be something I would only use as a 'top coat' for my shadow. For some people that might be great, but if I want a shimmery shadow I would just use a shimmery shadow and that extra stuff is just a step I don't need to add to an already long routine.

The packaging is nice but you can tell it's from a cheaper brand. The plastic lid screws onto the plastic base, but it doesn't feel like it's air tight. That isn't great because the mousse like product can dry out even quicker than normal.

Like I said, I've heard people rave about these, but I just don't get on with them. So, I won't be picking up any more and these ones will probably be passed on to my mum to see if she can get any use out of them.

These are £3.75 here on eyeslipsface.co.uk if you want to try them or see the other shades they have.

Hopefully the next review will be something a bit better, but I like to add some not so great reviews here on my blog so that people know what not to buy as well as what to try out.

Thanks for reading, and have a lovely day

Maybelline Colour Tattoo 24 Hour Eyeshadow in Light in Purple

Maybelline 24hr Colour Tattoo Eyeshadow in Light in Purple, £4.99 link

The Maybelline 24hr Colour Tattoo Cream Eyeshadows are a huge hit over blogs worldwide. They are probably the best drugstore alternative for MAC paint pots and they have a  nice shade range as well.  I really wish some of the shades and collections that have been released in the states make in over to the UK at some point because while the shade range is nice here, it would be nice to have some more netural colours to work with.

Today, I bring you a quick review and pictures of the shade Light in Purple. Light in Purple is a multi-dimensional duo-chrome like colour, and in different lights and at different angles you can pick up lilacs, pinks and silver amoungst the dominant blue base.

The gel-cream forumla is consistant with the other shades in the range, but I find the pigmentation and amount of sparkle/shimmer in the colour to be similar to that of Eternal Gold. It can pack a punch when swatched or patted on to the lid, but after blending you are left with a sheerer colour that can go a little patchy. I don't mind that too much because I use this under other shadows but if you plan to wear this alone, it is worth keeping that in mind.

Overall, I love the Maybelline Colour Tattoos, but this shade isn't my favourite.  I like the effect it can give but I love shades like Endless Black and On and On Bronze just that bit more because they are great used alone and blended out, on top of being bases, whereas this shade and shades like Eternal Gold can be patchy when worn alone.

They are a bargain at only £4.99, and you can always find the on some sort of offer whether that be BOGO half off or 3 for 2. You can find the shade Light in Purple here if you fancy purchasing it.

Thanks for reading, and have a lovely  day

Little Mix by Collection | Perrie's Trio Palette

Collection (previously Collection 2000 are a brand that is hit and miss for me. I adore some of their products but some just fall short for me. Unfortunately, The Little Mix By Collection Perrie Trio is one that doesn't hit the mark. Personally, I can't comment on how well these colours represent Perrie from Little Mix. They aren't a band I follow, or pay any attention too.

The palette contains 3 shadows and one of those little foam applicators that no one really uses. It comes in a nice compact plastic case with a clear lid to allow easy viewing of the colours. It has a nice secure closure, so it won't be popping open in a makeup bag. There isn't a mirror, which can be handy, but I don't really carry eyeshadows palette around with me for touch ups so I don't really need the mirror.

The three shades are seemingly perfect for creating a smokey eye. The gold shade is intended to be a highlight, with the grey meant for all over the lid and the sparkly black meant for the crease and outer corner.  Personally, the gold is not the sort of highlight I can pull off, I perfer white or cream shades. The grey is an okay colour all over the lid, but the black is to similar in colour to create any depth and darkness on the out part of the eye. None of the shades are particularly pigmented, with the black probably being the most disappointing. It comes off as the same colour as the grey middle shade,  and without any kind of evidence that there is sparkle like you see in the pan. The gold isn't really that opaque of a colour either, but I can make that work for me more than I can the other too. They grey shade is probably the most impressive, but it does take some working with. You can build it up, but it is fall out central on your face.

I like the lasting power of the shadows. Without a base they did crease but it was after about 6 hours, which I think is great. With a base like the Maybelline Colour Tattoo, it lasted all day with only slight fading and no creasing.

I personally wouldn't purchase this for myself but if you fancy picking it up it is available here for only £3.19

Empties #3 | Makeup I've Used Up Part 1

This post is going to focus on Makeup that I've used up. I don't often use up a full product because I have too much makeup and try and switch it out. That might give you some idea of how long I've been saving these products because there is quite a lot of makeup here.  I won't say too much on each because I don't want you to feel like your reading a novel but I'll let you know if I would repurchase and link up any reviews I might have done.

MeMeMe Flawless Cream Foundation in Blushing Beige, £12.50, link
I got this free with an order I made with MeMeMe ages ago and didn't expect to love it but I really did. The shade was a little dark for me, but for something that was free it was a pretty decent match. I would repurchase this but it seems like MeMeMe is no longer stocked in the UK and online they only have darker shades.

MAC Select SPF15 Foundation in NC20, Discontinued.
I picked this up in a blog sale ages a go as a way of trying out some MAC foundations without the huge price tag. I think this was 3/4 full and only cost me £5. The colour was great, though I prefer NC15 and I really enjoyed the foundation. It's a shame this is discontinued because I would have repurchased but I might try something similar if anyone has any suggestions?

MUA BB Cream in Light, £4, link
I brought this when everyone was jumping on the BB cream band wagon. I wanted to find a cheap BB cream that actually offered what I wanted but I soon learnt BB creams, no matter what the price, were not for me. This was a very thick BB cream which I found harder to blend that I thought it should have been. The colour was very nice though so I watered it down with a little more moisturizer and used it as a tinted primer

Sleek Be Beautiful Blemish Balm in Fair, £8.99, link
I really liked this BB cream but it was more of a foundation that BB cream. It offered light but buildable coverage, and didn't have the light effect other BB creams have. It wore quite well, and was perfect paired with a simple pressed powder. I used it on days when I was just popping out to the shops or felt like I was having a good skin day. I wouldn't repurchase because I've found other things that work better for me but for people with a light skin tone that want a light coverage foundation this is for you.

Maybelline  Dream Fresh BB Cream in Light, £7.99, link
This is my all time favourite BB cream, and I have repurchased it. It offers a nice light coverage, blurs imperfections and sits on the skin nicely. The colour is perfect and I find I can use this two ways. I really like using it as a primer under foundation to make it stick and to alleviate the need for layering up foundation that can cake up. I also like using it alone, with some concealer and a powder with a little coverage.

A while a go I brought a little sample pack thing on eBay and I finally worked my way though some of them. The only one I didn't get off eBay was the Max Factor sample, which came in a little kit you sometimes get free when you buy something from Max Factor.

Rimmel Fix and Perfect Primer, £6.99 full size, link
I liked this because it was just a basic primer that worked. It feels like the Laura Mercier primer on the skin, but is just a little less "priming" than that. It did make my makeup last long and gave it a slightly smoother base but the Laura Mercier option makes my make up last until I take it off.

Max Factor Lasting Performance Foundation in Natural Beige, £9.99 full size, link
I didn't enjoy this all that much but mostly because of the colour. It seems that when you get free gifts and it includes foundation or concealer they assume everyone is tan. Not the case Max Factor, but I did try this out and mix it with some super pale foundations to use it up. It was okay, but I wouldn't repurchase it in the full size.

Rimmel Match Perfection Cream Gel Foundation in Ivory, £6.99 full size, link
I really liked this foundation and am pretty gutted it's been discontinued. It was a nice texture, had a decent coverage and it lasted pretty well. It was nice on my dry skin, and the gel texture made it great on drier patches and it felt more hydrating.

Rimmel Match Perfection Liquid Foundation in Light Porcelain, £6.99 full size, link
I have purchased this in it's full size. I love that the colour is actually a match for me, and the coverage is great for everyday wear. It's not going to hide everything, which I sometimes like, it does even out the skin tone. It helps blurs the appearance of pores and blemishes. It offers a light to medium coverage and is buildable. The finish is nice and natural, and it doesn't cling to dry patches.

Rimmel BB Cream in Light, £6.99 full size, link
I like this BB cream, but I wouldn't repurchase this shade. I might look into the Very Light shade that has been released recently, but I think the matte bb cream might be more for me. I don't love matte finish things on my face but this is crazy shiny so I had to pile on powder to knock out the shine. It was okay, but there are better bb creams about.

Maybelline Super Stay 24hr Foundation in Ivory, £8.99 full size, link
I like this but I don't love it. I found the matte finish a little to much for my dry skin .If I was having a good skin day or used a crazy intense moisturizer then this worked for me but not all the time. The colour was nice, and the staying powder was lovely. I have purchased a super stay foundation but it is the newer option which isn't as matte but lasts super long on the skin.

Part two will be up Friday because, while I wanted this to be one post I know that nobody wants to be reading a novel on my garbage. Check it out here

Kiko Makeup Milano Eyeshadow in 139 Pearly Salmon

The Kiko Eyeshadow in 139 Pearly Salmon is pretty much what it says on the tin. The peachy pink eyeshadow is jammed packed with shimmer and fine glitters. You get 0.1oz of product in a decent size compact. The lid is frosted clear plastic, allowing you to see the colour through the top but I would prefer the top to be flat to allow for stacking in my storage solution. If you don't have a stupid amount of eyeshadow singles, then the packaging would probably be perfect for you.

It claims to hold for 12 hours and be heavily pigmented. While I agree with the pigmented statements made by the company, I found that these lasted about 6 hours before creasing on me. I have "normal" lids, so shadows normally last pretty well on me, so if you have oily lids or find shadows crease easily on you, I would suggest using a primer to get these to stick.

My only issue with this shadow sits with the shimmer in the shadow. Because the shimmer is more like glitter, there is some fall out and it can be quite chunky when you use it. I found that some of the other Kiko shadows I tried in store were smooth but this one, while it is gorgeous, is a bit more chunky and prone to falling out all over your cheeks. Tapping off the excess and using a sticky base helps, but I would suggest doing foundation/concealer after your eyeshadow look with this product.

It is also now on sale for just £2.90 instead of the RRP of £4.90 online here  and they also have a ton of other colours in their sale. If you want to try these in store they now have a store on Regent Street and in Westfield Staford.

Wet n Wild Petal Pusher Palette + Mini Blog Sale

The Petal Pusher is a well sort after palette, especially by beauty addicts that find it hard to hold of Wet N Wild. The selection of 8 shadows are all gorgeous hues of purples ranging for very slightly tinted lilac white right up to a dark charcoal with purple shimmers running through it.

Each shadow is labelled with a position on the eye, although I would use them in other places as well as what Wet N Wild have dictated.  The labels make this palette ideal for beginners who aren't used to creating eye looks, and the price makes it even better for those just starting out.

The first is white shadow base with really subtle lilac shimmer. It's not the most pigmented of the bunch but is a gorgeous brow bone highlight.

The lighter eyelid shade is a nice lavender shade with a golden shimmer.

The crease shade on the left is the lighter of the two but are nice and deep. It's not matte but it's probably one of the most matte shades in the palette. Some might call it satin. There aren't any obvious shimmers or glitter and it works to subtly add colour to the eye.

The lighter definer shade is an amazing blue purple with sliver glitters. I wouldn't use it to define anything but it looks lovely over the lid. The silver shimmers really pop when you load it up on the lid.

Next up you have a pink/lilac shade, swatched it gives a shimmer to the skin that hints at the purple hue when it hits certain lights.

The darker of the lid shades is a medium purple with tonnes of golden shimmer specks. The best part about the shade is that the glitter doesn't fall out all over your face and you can still see on the eye.

The darker of the crease shades is an almost exact dupe for MAC beauty marked. the black base is loaded up with pinky purple glitters that just give it a little something special.

The last shade is a black, with a similar depth to the beautymarked dupe. It has some subtle shimmers running through it but when you blend the shade you cannot really see them.

All of the shades have a nice texture to them, with only one complaint. The white shade is a little chalky but still useable. If you really want to pack on the colour, you can get fall out but if you use a little and build it up it is easy to avoid.

If you love purple shades, and want to grab a bargain I would highly recommend this. I know it's hard to get hold of here in the UK, but if you can get it  I would grab it.

With this great review in mind, I'm not one for the purple shades. I tend to stick with greens, browns and charcoal colours so if anyone wants this palette (it's been used about x5) it is yours for £5.50 including postage (within the UK).

Just email me: sparkleandshineblog@gmail.com if you fancy snapping this up! Thanks for reading

M&S Autograph Eyeshadow Palette: A Naked Palette Dupe?

Like my last review, I am a little late posting this one. It's been sitting in my drafts since July, and I am finally getting around to posting this bad boy.

The M&S Autograph Eyeshadow palette is a gorgeous 12 shade collection of neutral shades that can be used to create a wide variety of looks. Mine comes encased in gorgeous gold and very reflective (excuse the lamp shade in the picture) packaging but it is currently on sale in even more gorgeous black packaging (here).

The selection of neutral shades are automatically going to remind any beauty lover of the infamous Naked or Naked 2 palettes from Urban Decay but the M&S offering is considerably cheaper than those. I also think it is more compact and slightly more sturdy that the Naked1 palette packaging. The large mirror inside is great for on to go touch ups and makes it a great palette to travel with. The brush that came with it (which I lost pretty much as soon as I got this) was actually pretty decent  but I still prefer my RT and other brushes.

All of the shades are gorgeously pigmented, with one slight exception. The shade Taupe, while still pigmented, is the weakest of the bunch with Chrome being the best.  I find all of the shades to be blendable and long lasting, though I would still put a primer underneath to give them an extra "oomph" on the eyes.

The shades, in the images, marked with a "*" and my favourite off the bunch, and ones that I use nearly everyday. That isn't to say the others aren't great though, because they are.

Sand is a gorgeous shimmery ivory colour. Peach is (strangely enough) a light, shimmery peach shade that is great all over the lid. Latte is a nice champagne/gold colour with a fine glitter running through it. Taupe is the first matte offering and is a grey, taupe colour. Brown Velvet is the second (and last) matte offering and is a very warm medium brown. Brown Suede is a slightly shimmery taupe, brown colour.

Champagne Shimmer is a slightly chunky, shimmery light brown. Burnished Copper isn't really a copper shade but more like a shimmery warm brown with a hint of bronze. Cocoa is a slightly green based brown with shimmer. Gunmetal is a deep, shimmery grey toned brown shade. Carbon is the black of the bunch, and a silver shimmer running through it. Finally, Chrome is a brown/black with a heavy gold shimmer.
