B. Pure Micellar Water Review

Micellar Water is the new 'in thing' at the moment. I actually did a post a few days a go about what this 'water' actually is (you can read it here).

This offering from B ( a range exclusive to Superdurg) is just the latest in releases from brands like Bioderma. It's one of the cheapest I've seen, so for that reason I decided to give it a go.
B. Pure Micellar Water
B. Pure Micellar Water, £4.50 in Superdrug stores or online!

It's a 3 in 1 cleanser that is supposedly good for all skin types, including sensitive skin. It claims to be a super water that is quick, effective and super gentle on the skin.

The three main properties are cleansing the face and eyes, toning to restore the pH balance of the skin and refreshing with cucumber extract. I'm not entirely sure it does all these things because it can be hard to detect such subtle claims but it does take my makeup off, and my face is left feeling nice and clean after I use it.
B. Pure Micellar Water
It's great if you want a quick way to take off makeup, but while it says you don't really need to do anything after using this I still feel the need to wash my face. All you need to do with this product is put a little on a cotton pad, and sweep it all over you face. I do that but it just seems a little strange to cleanse at night without physically washing my face. So, I follow this up with my Clean and Clear Pore and Shine Face Wash.

I only have one issue with this product and that is that it can irritate my eyes. It says that it's gentle enough for the eye area but every time I use it to take my eye makeup off it stings so much. I'm not sure if it's my eyes, or something but if you have sensitive eyes this won't works for you.

It is a nice price though and for a simple facial cleanser it works amazingly well. It gets rid of all my makeup and leaves my face feeling nice. It's cruelty free (like the whole B. brand) and is made in the UK

You can get this B. Pure Micellar Water exclusively in Superdrug stores or online for only £4.99

What Actually is Micellar Water?

Having heard people go on and on about Micellar water I decided to actually look into what it is! As a little project for myself I've decided that I'm going to be more careful with what I put on my skin, and I'm going to try and understand what specific products can do for me.

Anyway, micellar water is a cleansing water that originates from France. It's supposed to be gentle on the skin, but effective at cleansing away the makeup of that day. The product itself, while seemingly as simply of water, is a blend of microscopic oils and water. Don't let the word oil put you off though. It's not like those products where you have to mix the oil and water, and it doesn't even have a hint of an oily texture. It simply feels like water, but it has that great power of an oil based cleanser. It's gets rid of makeup and grim on the skin, and leaves the skin feeling refreshed and toned.

I would probably say Bioderma is the most popular micellar water that you hear of but, whilst cheap in France, it can be hard to get hold of in the UK and when you do it tends to be on the pricey side of things. But, don't worry! If you can't get the France or don't want to pay the price of Bioderma you can quite easily get a hold of some of this miracle product.

The beauty world is going to crazy for this bad boy, and I see it being the next BB cream. I'm sure soon most brands will have their own version that they claim is unique in some way, but the newest one on my radar if the B.Pure Micellar Water. It's available in Superdrug, where B. is sold exclusively, and it's under a fiver. It might be worth a try if you want to see if these products are worth the hype they are getting.

Skincare Routine | Night

So, if you haven't already seen my day/morning skincare routine you can see it here. It's a bit of a long post but it tells about all the pesky skin problems that I'm trying to combat with my routine. I have a slightly different routine at night than I do during the day so I thought I would share that with you today!

Night Time Skincare Routine
Biore Warming Anti-Blackhead Cleanser link, Clean and Clear Refreshing Facial Scrub link, Tea Tree Cleanser and Toner link, Good Things Stop That Spot Treatment Gel link, Purity Overnight Regenerating Moisturizer* link, Lancome Bi-Facil link, Clinique All About Eyes link & Blistex Relief Cream

A few of these products are interchangeable with other products, but the idea is all the same.

The first thing that I do is take of my eye makeup, and any other stubborn makeup I may have on my face like lip stains of anything like that. I find that an oil based makeup remover works better for this and at the moment I'm using up a small Lancome Bi-Facil that I got free when I brought a mascara. It's a really good makeup remover and you only need a small amount, once you've shaken it up, to remove both eyes. I just put a little on a cotton pad, rest it over my eyes for a few seconds and the wipe away.

After I have got that off, I will was my face with one of my scurbs. I find using these at night works best for me so I alternate between two scrubs. The Biore Warming Cleanseris a brilliant scrub but I find it to abrasive to use every day so I use this twice a week, and all the the other times I will use the Clean and Clear Refreshing Facial Scrub.

The Biore Warming Cleanser is meant to warm on contact with the skin, which is does, and help clear away those pesky blackheads and clean out your pores. I think it's a brilliant scrub and really helps keep my problem blackheads at bay.

The Clean and Clear Refreshing Facial Scrub is a great every day scrub. It is just abrasive enough that I feel it's doing something but not to abrasive that I can't use it everyday. It gives my skin a good clean and gets all that gross dirt and grit out of it.

After washing off the scrub, I'll put some of the Tea Tree Cleanser and Toner on a cotton pad, and run it all over my face. This gets off any dirt that might be left and also tones my skin. I don't really love this cleanser/toner, but it's working for the moment and I will use it up. It's great for an affordable option, but the peppermint smell isn't something I'm a fan of putting of my face and it tends to make my eyes start watering if I get anywhere even close to them.

After my face is totally clean, I will put on my night time moisturizer which is the Purity Overnight Regenerating Moisturizer. This this is amazing. It's super thick so it's quite intense, but it doesn't make any oily patches worse, and it helps out those gross dry areas. It's all natural which is great, and the stuff seems to be lasting for forever. You don't need too much considering it's so thick and it's cheap too which is a huge bonus.

Next, I put on my eye cream which is exactly the same as my day/morning one. I layer it on a little thicker now just to give more moisture but as I said before I'm not sure it's a miracle worker and I just use it because I have it.

After than I put on a nice thick later of the Blistex Relief Cream. This really gives my lips a boost, and helps them for being all dry and gross. If I have a lip scrub at the time I will give them a scrub before putting this on to get away that dead skin.

If I have any spots, I'll put on a bad of the Good Things Stop That Spot gel, but if not the lip cream is the last thing and I head off the bed.

Empties #1

Be prepared for a long post guys. I’m going to try and keep it as short as possible and not ramble to much. These are the empties I’ve gathered since the 15th of September. I can only give you the precise date because it’s they day I moved up to uni, and these are the only products I’ve had with me. So, on with what I’ve used up.

Superdrug Tea Tree Moisturiser
There isn’t much to say about this to be honest, except that the scent is so strong it makes your eyes water. It’s great for those slightly oily days or if you’re having a major breakout, but other than that it’s not too much different from other moisturisers. It’s doesn’t dry out my skin, but it doesn’t work miracles. It’s just ok.

MAC Cleanse Off Oil
I’m so sad this is gone. I adore this stuff, and because of my spending ban I cannot purchase another just yet but I will be when I have the cash to. It’s the best makeup remover that I’ve ever tried, and it removes every bit of makeup on my face. It does leave a bit of an oily residue, but for my dry skin it’s not too bad. I either wipe it off with a baby wipe, or cleanse with a hot cloth cleanser.

Clinique Rinse Off Makeup Solvent
I don’t recommend this. For the price, it’s nothing. It doesn’t remover waterproof makeup, or anything remotely stubborn. It stings a little when I use it on my eyes, and it’s just not worth the money.

Sure Woman Maximum Protection Deodorant
I debated about putting this in this post because it seems like strange thing for me to talk about but I have to ask something of you all. I brought this in Boots when it was on sale. It was normally about £5, but it was knocked down to £2.50. I didn’t think much of it at the time but now I fear it’s been discontinued. It’s the best deodorant ever! It’s smells nice and it really works.

Simple Light Hydrating Moisturiser
If you don’t need to much moisture this is for you. It’s a simple product that does what it says on the tin. It lightly moisturises the skin, without leaving a scent or any kind of residue on it. It’s also super cheap which is great to.

Max Factor Lipfinity Lasting Lip Tint in 04
This isn’t used up, it’s just dried out. I’ve had this for quite some time, and it’s lasted pretty well but I didn’t get that much wear out of it  because of the shade. If I would have brought it in the autumn months it would have had a lot more wear but it’s just not a summer colour so it didn’t see the light of day.

Estee Lauder Pure Color Lipstick in 6 Pink Parfait
This technically isn’t finished either, but it belongs here because the bullet broke and I can no longer use it. I’m sad that it’s gone because it wasn’t cheap but it’s wasn’t the best lipstick in the world either so I won’t be repurchasing it. The colour was decent, but didn’t last all that long on the lips.

MAC Lipstick in Sweetie (Lustre)
I will repurchase this. It’s the best lipstick I’ve used in a long time and it works amazingly well for fall and winter because it’s got that deep purple hue to it that screams autumn. It didn’t last all that long, but I didn’t care because it was a fabulous colour. It gives a beautiful stained effect to the lips rather than blanking them out like some lipsticks can which I think is fabulous.

MAC Limited Edition Lipstick in To Catch A Sailor (Frost)
I wasn’t a fan of this, and this has a similar story to the Estee Lauder lipstick. The bullet broke and I depotted it, but the colour just wasn’t worth the hassle of it all so I binned it. I love the packaging and as sad as it sounds I will miss it looking nice a pretty in my collection.

MAC Select SPF 15 Foundation in NW20
This was a really nice foundation, and had I had it in the right shade it would have been used up a lot sooner. It’s a nice foundation for those who have combination skin and it has the SPF built in so for people like me whose moisturiser doesn’t have it in, this is great. It gives a medium coverage, but it’s most certainly buildable to. It lasted pretty well and didn’t melt off my face.

MAC Studio Tech Foundation in NW20
I used this as a concealer because it’s just too thick to use as a foundation. Again, I would have preferred this if it were in a better shade for me but it worked well enough. It’s not the best concealer in the world, but it’s better than some. I wouldn’t repurchase it.

MAC Eyeshadow in Crème De Violet
This isn’t technically an empty, it’s a depotted shadow but the container is empty so I put it here. I have a review of this here so read that to see what I thought.

MAC Extra Dimension Eyeshadow in Rich Core
I love this, and wish it wasn’t limited edition. I used this as crease colour for more dramatic looks and as a liner at times too.  It’s a nice shadow, that was really blendable and I loved it. I could have got more use out of it but the shadow fell out of the pan and broke so it was no more. If they were to ever re-introduce them I will snap another one up.
