Everyone, STOP WHAT YOU ARE DOING! Just all take a minute of your time and admire the beauty of this lipstick!
Have you all done that? Yes? Good carry on with your day as you normally would. Or maybe carry on after you've given this post a cheeky read.
I picked up the Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Volupte Shine Lipstick in 13 Pink in Paris. These lipsticks claim to be the all-in-one lip care product that offer protection, comfort, shine, and smudge proof colour. They say it melts into yours lips and stays with you for hours.
I've wanted a YSL lipstick for so long. I'm a sucker for packaging and there is just something about these lipsticks that makes me a little weak at the knees. Okay, that's a slight exaggeration but it's so freaking gorgeous. The gold isn't garish or tacky like it can be sometimes. The middle of the tube makes me swoon a little and it just screams class to me.
I picked up the shade 13 Pink in Paris because I thought it was a great shade for the Spring/Summer time but it's also something that could pull off in the Winter. I would say it's a brighter rose pink shade. It's not as in your face as something like a fuchsia or hot pink but it's a little brighter than your average rose pink colour. If you don't like bright colours, I would still say give this a swatch because it's beautiful.
For something that is so glossy, it lasts really well. The shine does wear off after an hour or so but the colour stay put and lasts pretty well through food. It's not going to beat anything with any kind of grease in it, but other than that it's really good.
It doesn't dry out my lips at all but after the shine has worn off and you've worn it for a while it can sit in some of the lines of your lips. To avoid that, just keep lips exfoliated with something like Lush Lip Scrub (review here) and keep up with the lip balm application.
Overall I love this lipstick and if you have the money to spare and want a little luxury in your life I would highly recommend these lipsticks.

I second Paula's suggestion. This shade looks so pretty, but I wonder if applying it is a problem? I usually find a pointy tip really convenient. Do you use a lip brush to apply this lipstick?
ReplyDeleteI'll be sure to keep the lip swatches in the future.
DeleteI find this so much more convenient than a pointy tip one so it's perfect for me. I apply it right from the tube.

If you get a chance to treat yourself, I would highly recommend these. I have two in this shade and no8 and they are all I wear now. They aren't drying, they last and they are gorgeous!
