2013 Blog Highlights

2013 was a great year for my blog. It has grown beyond my wildest expectations and given me opportunities that I never thought I would have.  I reached 480 GFC followers and over 500 bloglovin followers. I have a giveaway planned for the new year and for the milestones I've hit over the last few months.  I also have had over 100,000 page views.

I have also started a blog dedicated to books. They are another passion of mine. It's just starting up now, but I hope in 2014 I can grow that blog just like this one.

The two meet ups I've been to were great and it was brilliant to met fellow bloggers. The #LDNBBMeet, arranged by Tattooed Tea Lady aka Sophia, was the first meet up I attended and it really helped me start to get over my social anxiety.

The second was arranged by Meet The Millards aka Emma and A Bit of This and That aka Clare. The secret santa meet up idea was brilliant, I meet some great bloggers and got some great gifts that are in use at the moment.

These are just a few highlights of this year and I hope 2014 brings things just as 2013 did.

Get Her Look | Jennifer Lawrence at the Ocsar's and Bafta's 2013

Jennifer Lawrence is a hit actress right now, with a good reason. She's won an Oscar for crying out loud and she plays the lead in new hit movie franchise The Hunger Games. She's freaking gorgeous, and her makeup is always lovely.

She tends to lean towards more simplistic side of looks, and her Bafta and Oscar looks stand out to me. Her skin looks flawless, her lips simple and the smokey eyes she supports complete the look.

After a little research I found some products that her makeup artists used to create these amazing looks.

L'Oreal True Match foundation (product 1, link) was used on her at the Oscars to create her face. Blended perfectly into the skin, it perfects her skin and creates a flawless base for the rest of her makeup.

At the Baftas she supported a great grey smokey eye which was created by the Pixi Lid Last Shadow Pen in Graphite Glint (product 2, link). The shadow pencil was put all over the lid and blended up and out to create a more smokey effect on the eye.

Jennifer's lips are always super natural. They are nicely pigmented on their own, so from what I've read she usually only wears a sheer nude or light pink gloss. Dior Lip Maximizer (product 3, link) was used on her at the Oscars in 2013 to create a beautiful glossy effect.

Lastly, while she tends to keep it on the more natural side her lashes get given a little boost. Rather than dramatic full strip lashes or fuller individual lashes, the makeup artist tends to take more natural individual lashes (product 4, link) and places them in all the right places to make her lashes fuller and a little longer. Ardel Individual Lashes in Black are a great choice and are only £5.49
